What We Do

The Southwest Laborers’ Training & Apprenticeship Fund provides opportunities for LiUNA construction members in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. It is our mission to provide training that you can build a future upon. We open the door of opportunity for construction union members by offering quality, comprehensive safety and skills training that will allow them to increase their skills, advance their careers and in turn creating a safe, skilled workforce for our signatory employers; allowing them to remain competitive in the marketplace.

Our Training

The SWLTAF offers courses in Construction, Environmental and Safety. We work closely with Local Union leaders and training is customizable based upon a particular request from employers. The basic components of LiUNA Training’s curriculum include: participant and instructor guides, PowerPoint presentations, written exams and practical assessments. The Curricula is developed using accepted industry and adult education standards. For active learning, lessons are student-centered, activity-based and where appropriate, include hands-on training. More importantly, all LiUNA’s curricula meets rigorous IAS accreditation criteria. SWLTAF currently has one ANSI certified instructor.
